As of February 1, Good Soil Lutheran Ministries is one of the newest congregations in the ELCA.
The new congregation carries on the ministry of Faith Lutheran Church in Lakewood and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rocky River and step into the future offering opportunities to connect with God and the community, including:
- A monthly, free community meal on the second Monday of each month.
- Working with The Open Table to walk with young adults who are making their way in the world after many years in the county foster care system as children.
- The only monthly, pet-friendly worship service in Northeast Ohio, on the first Sunday of each month.
The Lakewood Campus (formerly Faith Lutheran Church) is the Lakewood Abbey, which is a community hub hosting a number of Alcoholic Anonymous groups; Refugee Recovery, which uses Buddhist techniques to assist in recovering from addiction, and several “helping professions” tenants.
The Rocky RIver Campus hosts the Rocky River and Lakewood Meals-on-Wheels program, several AA groups and Suburban Co-Op Preschool.
